Roller Skating

The bigger boys and I went roller skating Wednesday with some friends. I don't remember the last time I roller skated, but we had a great time! The boys did pretty well considering it was their first time. They fell a lot, but so did everyone else so they didn't seem to mind.

Taking a little breather!

Happy Birthday, Jesus 09!

N and M in their reindeer ears!

The boys actually slept in for Christmas morning, so the Jones household didn't start really moving until around 8:00! The boys waited behind the hall door until we all got situated. They were so excited about their presents and had such a great time. After a while, we ate cinnamon rolls and Daddy brought in their new bikes that were a gift from Monniemoo. The boys love them! J didn't know what to think of all the commotion, but watched everything with interest. It is hard to believe that next year, we will have 3 little boys running around!

Baby J watching all of the excitement!

Daddy in his Christmas gift from the boys. They picked it out all by themselves!

Uncle Jamie and J on Christmas morning!

The boys with their bikes which they LOVE!!! N is also wearing one of their Transformer outfits and M one of their shirts... Can you tell they really like Transformers this year?

Bumblebee and Optimus Prime

After talking to Papa Nelson and Jean Mommy, Monniemoo, Poppop, and some of our aunts and uncles and cousins, we started opening presents. N and M helped everyone open gifts!
For lunch, our friends Ellen, Theresa, and Jack came over to eat with us. We ate a lot of food, had Happy Birthday, Jesus cake and had a great time visiting with family and old friends!

The boys eating all of their birthday cake. Not a great picture, but the only one I have of them in their real clothes. They sang "Happy Birthday, Jesus" and blew out the candles before I even had a chance to grab my camera!

What a happy little Christmas boy!:

Everyone settled into their Christmas p.j.'s watching Home Alone on t.v. We were all so full and tired from all of our celebrating!

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

White Christmas

Well, I don't think we will actually have a white Christmas, but we did have some beautiful, big, white snowflakes today just in time for Christmas Eve. The boys loved it! I wish we lived somewhere that actually had a little bit of snow accumulation every once in a while, but a few flakes was great also!
We had a great dinner followed by our annual Christmas light ride around town for Christmas Eve. When we got home, the boys put on their Christmas p.j.'s and started their Santa preparations.
The boys made sugar cookies with Gracie and Bob-O and insisted on each preparing their own plate for Santa. (I sure hope he is hungry!)
Bob-O reading a few Christmas stories to the boys. He read several of their books and finished it off with the story of the birth of Christ in Luke. After the boys were asleep, the adults wrapped presents and watch "National Lampoons Christmas" and did a little elf work! It was a great way to end the special evening!
Santa has come!

SANTA!

We took the boys to Santa today! M was really unsure of what to think of Santa, but he did really well. I took him up to watch Santa while everyone else was in line and I think it reassured him that this was the thing to do. The funny thing is is that Santa was rather large this year... I took N up closer to see Santa and he said, "Mommy, Santa has gotten weally weally fat dis yeuh!" Followed closely by, "I think he has been eating way too many sugar cookies!" He was indeed a jolly, bowl full of jelly kind of Santa! Turns out, J sat on Santa's lap and the bigger boys just stood by him. (Which was just fine with M anyway!) N told Santa he wanted a bike and a transformer toy. M told him he wanted a batman and an optimus prime toy. While leaving, N said "Daddy, I'm a little worried that Santa may not fit down our chimney!"

Brotherly Love

N and M are so excited about Christmas and it is so fun to see that magic through their eyes. They are also crazy about their baby brother. They are so gentle with him and love him to pieces! I am loving their ages and I think this will be the first Christmas that they both seem to really comprehend what is going on. We are really working hard on helping them understand that although it is fun to get presents and see Santa... Jesus is the true reason for the season!

It's Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Christmas season is definitely upon us! We returned from Georgia, put up a tree, decorated the house, and are in full Holiday swing!
I took N and M to The Children's Park downtown with our neighbors to their annual park Christmas party. They had a tree, Santa, Christmas carols, hot chocolate, smores, crafts, etc. The Santa told a story that incorporated Santa and Baby Jesus together and we only sang Christian Christmas carols. It was a fun time and boys loved it! Here is a picture of the boys waiting to see Santa. N was a little hesitant and M was super excited... until we got up there and they did a 180! N jumped right up in his lap and started talking while M preferred to stand next to him to have a chat.

The boys helped me decorate the tree for the first time this year. It was quite the experience! M would put several ornaments on one branch and they were all clumped into a small section. N did better about spreading the lights around, but kept hanging the ornaments on the light cord instead of the limbs. I kept trying to figure out why I kept finding light cords pulled out and hanging! Needless to say, I had to redecorate most of the tree and put all of my fragile ornaments at the tippy top! N insisted on putting up colored lights this year and I finally broke down. I have never had a tree with colored lights and although I still prefer white, the boys loved the colors and it was worth it for them!

Thanksgiving 09

We went home for Thanksgiving for 10 fabulous days! We had a great time visiting with friends and family and stayed very, very busy! J made his debut and was of course, a huge hit! N and M had fun playing with all of thier cousins and friends. We always have so much fun!
Not many children are fortunate enough to know their Great-Grandparents and my boys are blessed with two. Monniemoo is Daddy's grandmother and we all adore her. We always go to visit her several times when we go home.

My grandfather, Poppop, came down from Washington, DC to meet his newest great grandson and spend Thanksgiving with us.

The Jones boys with Monniemoo

J with Poppop

We spent Thanksgiving Eve with all of Daddy's family at Jean Mommy and Papa Nelson's house. It was so much fun to be with all of our cousins. The boys all had a fun football game out in the yard.

J with Davis

J and Raines

All of the boys! On Daddy's side, there are 7 grandchildren... 6 of which are boys!

The sweetest cousin of all... Annie Jacob and baby J!

M preferred watching the football game between all of the big boys and uncles from between the rails of Jean Mommy's porch.

N played with the big boys... and hung in there pretty well!

Another sweet picture of A.J. and her newest baby boy cousin. Poor thing, I am sure she was hoping for a girl!

Monniemoo holding the chunkster!

We went to Aunt Jane's house on Thanksgiving for lunch finished the day off with Thanksgiving dinner at Gracie and Bob-O's.
Bob-O wanted to take the boys camping one night. He set up a tent and the sleeping bags and all of the equipment. They made a fire and roasted marshmellows. The boys were really excited and about 30 seconds after they left, they were back! M had changed his mind. When I asked him why he didn't want to go. He said, "Mommy, I was scayud." Of what? "Da owuls and da dark, and da fwogs!" Gracie and Bob-O live on 3 acres and it was VERY dark outside and VERY cold! N went with Bob-O though and they stayed out there all night! Bob-O said that N said he was cold around 5 a.m., so he crawled in the sleeping bag with Bob-O. He had a great time and it was a fun memory with his Bob-O.

We had a fun time visiting with some of our friends. Although we did not get to see a lot of people this trip since it was so busy, we did get to spend an evening with the Harris' and an afternoon with the Holland boys.

N, M and D

Wilson and N and M
J got to meet Walter who was born 2 weeks before him. My sweet friend, Kaci, and I each have 3 boys. It was fun to get to spend the afternoon with her and introduce the newest two boys. 6 little boys ages 5 and under was quite an experience!

J - 12 weeks!

I cannot believe that the littlest man of the family is 12 weeks old! He is losing his hair a little around the edges and looking a lot like his big brother N! He is very strong and pushes up a little on his arms while laying on his tummy. He is starting to follow objects more and be a lot more alert. He is a really sweet baby! We are going home for Thanksgiving soon to show him off!
