Daniel's Tournament

Daniel at bat!

We had the fun experience of going to a lot of baseball games over the past few days. My cousin, Daniel, was part of the 13 / 14 year old All Star baseball team that made it to the State tournament here in our town. It worked out great for all of us because the park was literally less than 5 miles from our house! We had so much fun watching all of Daniel's games and getting to experience all of the action. It was definitely a taste of the Jones family future! I figure out of 3 boys, one is bound to be into baseball! Daniel's team unfortunately did not win the whole tournament, but did really well and he played great. He is an awesome pitcher! He also is a great young man and I am so happy that my boys have such a wonderful role model to look up to.

N's last T-Ball game

N had his last t-ball game on Saturday and had a wonderful time. This little season was a huge success with him and he was blessed to have a wonderfully patient coach and a cute little team. N really enjoyed himself and I hope will want to play more. He seems to really enjoy the more individual sports rather than the more team focused sports like soccer.

To make the game even more fun. One of his idols, his big cousin Daniel, got to come to his game. Daniel's team made it to the Texas state tournament which just happened to be held in our town so Uncle Clay, Daniel, Abbey, and Lydia came up for the weekend. Beth and Hannah came up a little later after they got back from camp. N was so thrilled to not only have Daniel at his game, but also that Daniel got to see him get his trophy. He has already told me that when he gets big like Daniel he wants "a sports woom jusht like Daniels full of all of his twophies!" For right now, he is content with the room he has because he told me, "Mommy, I don't have enough twophies to have a sports woom yeyut!"
Some duggout time with Daddy.

Uncle Cary's Horses

We took the boys up to Pine Mountain to visit Daddy's Aunt Jerry and Uncle Cary and ride horses. N had ridden one of the horses, "Cowboy" before and has not forgotten it. This time, both of the boys were old enough to ride. Uncle Cary was so patient with them and really tried to teach them how to get the horse to stop, go, and turn. Both of the boys had a great time and did pretty well. M was a little timid at first, but loosened up rather quickly. N loved it and in his usual mode, took it very seriously. He has always had a fondness for Uncle Cary and talked his head off the whole time he was on the horse! It was so much fun to watch them and for all of us to spend time with their Aunt and Uncle.

Of course, the trip was not complete until Daddy had a turn riding. He took both of the boys on a little ride, but then took a little spin by himself. I have to say that it may have been the first time that a horse has been ridden in seersucker and flipflops!

The evening finished off with some homemade peach cobbler and icecream which was divine!

The 4th of July

We had a relaxing and fun 4th spending time with family and friends. We spent the afternoon playing in the pool and grilling ribs. J went to see one of his best buddies, Bo, while the boys and I stayed at Gracie and Bob-O's and releaxed. I have to admit I was a little tired after our day at the river! Uncle Jamie came over and entertained the boys and played with them in the pool. My grandfather came in town for the week and we had a great time visiting with him. He will be 95 in September and is in remarkable condition. He sat out in the sun and even played ball with the boys a little!
After dinner, we met the Harris' downtown for the fireworks show. The kids had a great time playing ball and then watching the fireworks. It was fun to spend time with friends and celebrate a wonderful holiday. Happy Fourth!

The River!

We were invited to the river on Friday with the Murrells, Heltons, and Harris'. We had a great time and the boys loved it! We had a great lunch, the boys tubed and rode in the boat. They also rode on the jet ski and swam in the lake. All of the men took the kids over to a neighbor's boat house to jump off the roof. Much to my surprise, my little N jumped all by himself. He is so brave! I was so proud of him and think he may be coming out of his shy shell a little. He also proved himself to be a future fast driver by putting the "petal to the metal" on the jet ski. He had the older men screaming their heads off with his daredevil driving!

We had a great time visiting with old friends and enjoyed spending the day on the lake. Thank you all for inviting us!

Girls Dinner

Some of my sweet friends organized a dinner for me Thursday night while I was home. We went to the country club and had a nice, relaxing dinner where we all got to actually sit around a table and visit. Then, they surprised me and all brought gifts for baby J! I was so excited to get him a few things of his own and it was so much fun to be with such sweet girls. I miss them all so much!
I am so thankful for such wonderful friends. It is such a blessing to me that we still keep in touch with each other!
My sweet friend Kaci, is due 2 days before me with her 3rd boy! It was so much fun to see each other and get to share stories... and bellies!

Home for the 4th!

We went home last week for the 4th of July holiday and stayed for the whole week. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing all of our friends and family. We are always so busy when we go home running around town, but it is so worth it! We played a lot, ate a lot, swimmed a lot, laughed a lot... it was a great week!

Wednesday afternoon, we met Kaci and Brittany at Chick Fila A with all of the kiddos! We had a fun, chaotic visit!

Thursday night, the boys went to Aunt Jane's house for a 4th cookout and fireworks. They had so much fun playing with Jean Mommy and Papa Nelson and a lot of their aunts, uncles, and cousins!
