More Family Fun

Even though we were in Georgia under sad circumstances, we did have the benefit of spending a lot of time with family and friends. Here are a few more pictures from our trip...
We had the chance to spend a lot of time with Uncle Jamie who was also home for a while... The boys always have a great time with him!

Every morning when the boys would wake up, they wanted to sit on Bob-O's big chair together with their blankets and drink their milk. It was a cute routine! I like this picture because it really shows their "morning" personalities. M wakes up happy most of the time and N... well, he's like his mommy... we're not know for our winning morning personalities!

N had a great time out in Hatchechubee, AL playing on the 4-wheeler with Uncle Jamie! They rode around the rodes very slowly, but N had a wonderful time anyway!

Here are the boys with my sweet friend Kaci's boys Wilson and Woodruff... We always get together and play when we go to Georgia!

Georgia Bound

We had a VERY unexpected trip home over the past 2 weeks to see Pop who has been very sick since he fell on Christmas Day. We literally packed up the car in 1 hour when we got the phone call that he was not doing well. Thankfully, he made a turn for the better while we were in town and we got to have a lot of quality time with family. It was truly a blessing to get to spend so much time with him!
While we were home, we also got to spend a lot of time with friends and other family. We had a lot of fun and the boys had lots of adventures. Spring is such a fun time and the boys really got to explore the woods a lot around Gracie and Bob-O's house! They got very muddy which resulted in a lot of baths...

Firemen

Gracie and Bob-O took N and M to see Uncle Jamie's friend Gordy who is a fireman at the fireststion. I did not go on the trip, but according to my parents, the boys were absolute mutes while they were there and acted very shy. However, when I saw them N told me all about the firetruck, hoses, ladders, etc... Evidently, he took it all in!

Later, while they were outside they pretended to be firemen with the garden hose and their push firetruck. They were so cute and M of course copied everything N did!

Little Chefs

I have created 2 little adorable overly helpful kitchen monsters... I thought it would be cute to let the boys assist me when I cook sometimes. The problem is that now they want to help me ALL the time! This has created a mess because I am constantly either having to monitor them and cook at the same time or tell them that they cannot help which creates a lot of drama!

While we were in GA, we went with Aunt Jill, Aunt Julie, Jean Mommy and all of our cousins to Krispy Kreem which was a huge treat! N got a chef's hat and the next day wanted to wear it to make some sugar cookies with Gracie. The result was fun, but a big mess and probably more stress than is supposed to be involved with making cookies. N is pretty obedient and follows directions, but M is another story! He means well, he just doesn't quite understand it all yet! He is N's shadow and thinks he is almost 4 also!

Finally...

I know that is what most of you are thinking... Finally, she's updating that thing! I admit I have been terrible lately and I am not really sure why. It certainly isn't because nothing is going on in our lives! The good news is that I finally got a new digital camera (Thank you Monniemoo and Pop, Jean and Nelson, and Poppop!) with my Christmas and Birthday money, so I will be updating the pictures more often. I have been using my film camera so it has taken me a lot longer to finish the roll, get them developed, put them on a disk, manually load them... you get the drift. Anyway, here are some recent pictures of the munchkins! I'm also going to go in and backdate some, so keep scrolling down...

39 days and counting

By my calculations, we are entering 40 days of Superman and Spiderman pajamas! I am not sure what the obsession is, but that is all they want to wear at night! I think people think I am exaggerating, but seriously... 40 days! Now, M has caught on and it is so funny to watch him get into character. It has made me realize the influence that N has on him! M is very opinionated, will go and pick out which ones he wants to wear, and refuse to wear the ones he does not want to wear! I realize that we could put a stop to this by putting our foot down, but I am letting them enjoy this phase... although I do have more laundry now!
The boys run through the house and hold their little superman toys and make flying sounds. They "swish" through the house as N calls it when they are Spiderman and pretend to climb up walls and jump off buildings... (we have to monitor this rather closely!)

M just started this a few days ago and I caught this picture... After putting on his cape, he puts his little fists up in the air and makes flying noises... It is so funny!

Teeth and Hair

N is reaching the age where he asks a LOT of questions and takes things very seriously and literally. I have been reinforcing with him the need to have good dental hygeine. I finally have started telling him that if he doesn't take care of his teeth and brush them, they will fall out and he won't get to eat any of his favorite foods anymore. I know this is a little scary, but it seems to have done the trick and he doesn't fight it as much anymore.
This morning as we were getting ready to leave for school, I told N he needed to come with me so that we could brush his hair. He told me, "Dat's wight Mommy, if big boys don't brush dem hayuh, it will all fall out!" And then he stopped and looked straight into my eyes, pointed his finger in the air and said very seriously, " Have you seen dem Mommy, da big men wif no hayuh?"
I could barely keep my giggles to myself!

Big Boy Pants

I am continually amazed by the difference in N and M. N is more reserved, can be quite shy at times, and is very loving. M is a hambone! He likes to show off and wants to do everything like his big brother... including wear big boy pants! He just started wanting to wear big boy pants over his diaper. He also likes to stand at the potty and pretend to use it like N. I am of course thrilled by this and am already planning to potty train him this summer... hopfully! Last night, we had already had baths and put on pajamas. However, M was having a fit about something... I finally figured out what it was and decided to go ahead with his demands... After all, if nothing else, it was a Kodak moment!

Heart Day!

We had a fun Valentine's Day here. The boys both went to school and had parties. They had a great time picking out their Valentine's and receiving Valentine's. We had a lot of candy when we got home, but thankfully Mommy got a chance to hide a lot of it before it was all consumed. N hates chocolate, so M and Daddy and me ended up with a large portion of treats as well! J had to go out of town for a meeting, so I rode with him, went shopping while he was in the meeting, and then we had lunch together. Since he has class on Thursday nights, we knew that would be the only way to spend any time together. It ended out working perfectly as we were back home in perfect time to pick up the boys.

N and M looked so cute at school, but quickly changed as soon as we got home when I gave them their Valentine's gift from us... New Spiderman t-shirts! They were so excited! I normally don't like theme shirts, but I found these so cheap and I knew they'd be great play shirts...

Happy Heart Day!

Busy Week

I know... I'm a little behind on my blog. Gracie and Bob-O came in town last week and kept the boys this past weekend so J and I could attend a work meeting. We had a lot of fun and kept very busy. We took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time and they had a great time. We went early in the morning which was great because hardly anyone was there! Gracie and Bob-O took the boys to a birthday party at Pump It Up and they were ALL very exhausted afterwards! I think I forgot to mention to them that they would actually have to go on all the rides with M! When J and I got back on Sunday, we found some wonderful, but a little worn out grandparents! I know they all had a great time though!
