School Program 2007-2008

N had his end of the year program last week and I have finally had time to sit down and figure out how to load it onto the blog. This is only part of it and the taping is terrible...(we had a camera catastrophe at the last minute. My video camera would not come on and I only had my digital which takes short videos. However, my camera is new and I had never taped a movie before so I was kind of learning while I was taping!)Anyway, it is a memory and he really did well. He enjoyed the motions more than singing, but had a great time singing also. We were so proud of him for participating and most of all... having a great time!He had a great class this year and terrific teachers!

Checkups

The boys had their 4 year old and 2 year old checkups last week. They both did very well and thankfully, the office was quick! Poor N had to get 3 shots and a finger prick. I had prepared him for this before the appt. so he did pretty well. I had to hold back my tears as I saw his eyes fill up! However, he ony cried for a minute and "was soupa doopa bwave." M had one shot and laid on the drama pretty thick for a minute, but got over it when he saw the goodies that the Dr.'s office gives them :-).
N's stats:
35.25" tall and 33.6 lbs........75th percentile!
M's stats:
33.75" tall and 31 lbs...........90th percentile!
The nurses could not believe that they were only a year apart and that M had just turned 2 a few days earlier!

Summertime!

Summer has arrived! We have had a few fun days of sprinkler, baby pool, and sandbox time which the boys have enjoyed. Our little baby pool we bought last year for M is way too small this year and the boys are busting out of it! However, they do not seem to notice!

Last day of school

N's last day of school was today. (M had his last day of MMO on Thursday, but it was not very eventful since he only went 1 day a week. )N's however was a little more bittersweet. N has had a wonderful teacher this year. She has been so loving and attentive to his sensitivity and shyness. She really has helped his little personality develop and I have seen so much growth with him this year. She loves the Lord and loves the children and she has truly been a blessing to our family. To make it a little more sentimental for me... N is going to a new school next year. Although he will be going the same days of the week, the program is much more structured and "real" preschool. He will be going to a private Christian school here that we are very excited about! We have prayed a lot about our decision for next year and feel at peace with it, but it still made me a little sad to see my little boy leaving his church preschool. He is growing up so fast and although I am excited about this new chapter of his life, it is just another reminder of how quickly these years go by!

Happy Birthday M and Daddy!

The birthday boys spending some time together!

J and I got back on the 17th just in time to wake M up from his nap and wish him a Happy 2nd Birthday! We have been on a cruise which was fun and relaxing, but we missed our boys terribly and hated to miss even a second of M's birthday. However, since it is also Daddy's birthday, a Mommy has to compromise! We had really celebrated for both boys on N's birthday, so M did not have gifts to open, but we did have a little cake and he had fun anyway. Daddy celebrated several times on the cruise and our friends on the cruise gave him a twinkie with a candle on it on the bus ride home!

The problem we realized with gifts for M this year was that when we gave N his gifts for his birthday, it created World War 3 in the Jones household! After about 2 days, we decided to go ahead and give M his gifts as well... (since of course they are duplicates of N's!) The big presents were joint presents, so that part worked out well. They got their truck and a new double swing for their swingset. Each of them also got Woody dolls and Buzz Lightyear dolls... which have been the big hit! You should the boys playing around the house with our Buzz's, Woody's and Jessie's (they are the cowgirl doll that came with Woody)!

Jean Mommy came and kept the boys while we were cruising and got to enjoy a lot of playtime. Bless her heart, it rained the whole week, but she is a trooper! We are so thankful that she made the trip to keep them. They had a great time with her!

All about M

(M... post posicle!)

M is approaching his 2nd birthday. I thought I would take the post to talk all about M and his uniqueness!

First of all, M is a chunky monkey! He is and always has been 90th percentile and most people think that he and N are only 1 year apart. He is stocky and thick... he has adorable tree trunk legs and square feet. He has a head full of curly blond hair which I probably keep too long, but I love it! He has his Daddy's deep set eyes, but they are blue. We are not sure where his lips came from, but the are full and luscious! He has a wonderful smile and the best laugh in the world. He kind of cackles...

All that being said, M is 2... need I say more? He has found his temper and knows how to use it. He is incredibly stubborn and strong willed. He still does not say hardly anything, but makes his needs very known. He points, grunts, and literally drags you to where he wants you to go.

M is very social and loves for you to just sit with him. He is always sitting down and patting the couch or ground next to him for you to come be with him. He just likes the company! He is more extroverted than N and always waves to people and says "Hey!" M is fearless and all boy. He is so rough and tough and most of the time only wants a kiss and hug after an injury and then is off again. He is very opinionated and specific about what he likes and wants.
M is not interested in most age appropriate things, but usually wants whatever N has. We always have to have 2 of anything! He has always been a bit of a Daddy's boy and loves to play ball with his Daddy and play outside. M loves to swing and will do so for a long time. He is more of a TV watcher than N also. He is very focused and will play with things for a lot longer than most 2 year olds. He really loves blocks and coloring. He loves to play in the sandbox and his favorite activity in the world is to wrestle with his Daddy and brother. He loves bath time and we have to spell out "B-A-T-H" or else he will run to his bathroom and start getting in.

M prefers to be naked as seen in the picture, but does love his pajamas. He usually does not like to put on clothes, but loves hats and will wear them all the time if we let him.

M is a great eater and loves everything. It seems like his face is always dirty and he is always into something. He knows when he is in trouble and will attempt to hide from us. He is not as sensitive as N and needs a lot more discipline. He will test you and is a little more or a challenge.

Although he is very rough and tough, he is very loving. He loves to sit with you and rock in his rocker at night. He loves to sit on the couch and hold hands and will even cuddle still sometimes. He gives kisses and hugs and is very sweet natured when he wants to be!

I cannot believe we are approaching 2, but all I can say is... Watch out world...Here he comes!

Lovin' That Truck!

The boys are loving their birthday gift. N is really getting the hang of driving it and M loves to ride shotgun. M will just get in the truck and sit in the passenger seat waiting for his driver. N is so funny... he rides it to his swingset and goes up in the fort and says that he is at work. He also has a spot for school and home. The boys ride off and wave bye-bye to Mommy. They also load things in the back of their truck like their balls, pinestraw, and their lawnmowers...They are such cute little men!

This is N's feirce driving face!

M is always the happy passenger!

Happy Birthday N!

Today has been a busy day! I decided that today would be N's day and he could pick the day's festivities. We started the morning with our traditional special birthday pancakes:

Chef Boy-R-M helped me!

From there we got dressed and headed outside to ride in the boys' new truck. (Keep in mind that it is still around 8:30 a.m., but it is N's day... so I went with it!

Around 10 we headed to the zoo which was what N wanted to do more than anything. We have a great zoo here and have not yet been this spring. We had a great time and saw lots of animals. The tigers, lions, elephants, and snakes are the boy's favorites of course! We got rained out and had to leave a little early, but thankfully had already seen most of the important sites! I tried to get some pictures of this, but I was an over-ambitious mother taking both the boys to the zoo on my own and soon realized that if I slowed down long enough to take a picture, they were already off to visit a new animal! Last year, M was still in a stroller, but since he thinks he is 4 also, he refuses to sit in a stroller anymore!

From there, we met Daddy for lunch at N's pick of McD's... (not one of my favorites, but of course N wanted to go there due to the playground and we were limited on what we had to choose from due to the rain!) We then went to Toys R Us and N's favorite, The Red Store (Target!)

We then came home for M's nap and although N did try to rest, he was way to pumped up to sleep, so we played outside some more and played inside also. We played with his new Buzz Lightyear toy and his new Memory game. We also made cupcakes for his class tomorrow!

Daddy came home and we ate and had more birthday cake and then N opened a few more gifts. His favorite of the evening was a Spiderman costume that we gave him and he was a hoot jumping all over the house and climbing up tall buildings!

We had a fantastic day and N had a lot of fun. He is so excited to be 4 and I am so proud of him. He is such a good boy and such a joy to our lives! We were looking at his baby book and it is amazing how quickly the past 4 years have flown by!

N's 4th Birthday!

Tomorrow is N's birthday and we have had a blast so far! Tonight, some friends came over and we had a Cinco De Mayo feast! The weather was beautiful and we had a fun afternoon hanging out. The boys got their present early (a big F-150 truck) so that they could enjoy it and have had a great time playing on it. They are so cute riding in it together and so far have done fairly well with sharing it. Of course, only N is old enough to drive it, but M seems to have fun riding. We had a cowboy cake (per N's request) and ice cream. Our good friends came over with their boys and celebrated with us and all the boys had a blast!
