Last School Days

N's last day was Tuesday and he got an award for perfect attendance! Hopefully, it will be the first of many, but I am sure it will be much harder when he actually goes 5 days a week!

He finished off his day with a beach party at one of the local parks that has a spray park. The kids had lots of fun playing together. We have decided to hold N back next year to repeat preschool, so some of his friends will not be in his class next year, but I am looking forward to him meeting new ones!

The Birthday Boys

Today was Daddy's 32nd birthday and M's 3rd birthday. We had a nice day of family time and relaxation. M got some birthday pancakes and after dinner we sang to him. He also got to share in the blowing out of the candles on Daddy's cake, but I tried to make the day more about Daddy. J was thrilled three years ago when our second son was born on his birthday, but I also realize that his special day will probably be in the shadows for the rest of his life! I figured that since M had already had a party, opened a ton of presents, had a cake of his own, etc... we would try to celebrate Daddy a little bit more today! M was so excited and didn't seem to care one bit. He kept singing "Happy Birthday to M and Daddy" in his own cute language. When we asked him whose birthday it was, he said "ME! and Daddy too!"

I went and got breakfast for all of the boys Saturday morning since Sunday mornings are so busy with church. I also made Daddy's Aunt Jerry's famous cake for his birthday! We grilled steaks and had a nice dinner. Daddy got to go to a Rangers game on Wednesday with a friend which was party of his gift, but then we gave him a few more little gifts also.

Happy Birthday to 2 of my favorite boys in the whole wide world! I love you both with all of my heart!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! My husband was very thoughtful and gave me a half day spa package including a facial, prenatal massage, and catered lunch. I was thrilled and am looking forward to being pampered! My boys loved on me a lot and N even made up a Mother's day song (which was basically Happy Mother's Day to you instead of Happy Birthday to you!)... which was very cute and thoughtful of him! M kept saying "Hap Mama Day, Mommy!" I even got a card this year with my 5 year old's real signature in it and a drawing! How grown up!

To make the day even more special, my parents were in town. My Dad took us out to lunch and it was nice to spend the day with my mom. I haven't been with my Mother on Mother's day since moving to Texas, so we enjoyed being together. I have a wonderful mother who is so thoughtful and encouraging. She is a true example of Jesus and shines His joy and love to all who meet her! I am SO blessed!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Birthday party!

We threw the boys a combined birthday party at a local jump house on Saturday. About 20 friends and classmates came and played their little hearts out! I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked because I could not get them to be still! They played for about an hour and a half, ate Superman cake and ice cream and finally opened presents. The boys loved it! M was asleep in the car before we even got a mile from the party!
Happy 5th and 3rd birthdays, boys!

N's 5th Birthday!

N is five! It is so hard to believe that my baby is hitting this milestone. It literally seems like yesterday that he was born. This birthday was so much fun because it is really the first year that N totally understands it and is really into it. He has been talking about his birthday and planning his party for months!

Tuesday mornings I have to usually wake N up because he goes to school. This usually takes a few minutes and it followed by more minutes of sleepiness. However, Tuesday morning, I went in at 6:30 and started rubbing his back and started singing softly "Happy Birthday" to him and he sat straight up with the biggest grin on his face and said triumphantly, "Oh, Mommy! I so eggsited today is my Birfday!" and with that... we were off!

Bob-O went and got donuts with sprinkles for breakfast and N opened a present from Aunt Jan and Bob-O and Gracie at breakfast. M got presents too and I think thought it was his special day also! He was just as excited as N!

Next, N went to school and Gracie, Bob-O and I took spiderman cupcakes to his class at 10. His teacher had a special hat for him to wear and a birthday bear that sang. The class enjoyed their cupcakes and his teacher even gave him 5 (fake) spankings over her knee and a pinch to grow on. N thought this was hilarious and told me very seriously, "Don't worry Mommy. Dose pankings didn't hurt because she was just pwetending."
After school, we took N out to lunch whereever he wanted and he picked "MrDonalds." From there, we went to his favorite store, the "Red" store (a.k.a. Target) and got to pick out some new sand toys. We played all afternoon and then went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for a Cinco de Mayo birthday dinner celebration. N got an icecream sundae and was amazed that even the waitress knew it was his birthday! When we got home, the boys both played outside and then both got to open more presents from Jean Mommy and Papa Nelson.

It was a fabulous day and full of fun. N was a joy to be around and truly enjoyed his special day. The boys are having a joint party on Saturday with their friends, so it is really a birthday week!

N told me when I tucked him in, "Mommy, dis was da berry bestest day of my whole entiyuh life!" I love that 5 year old more than words can say! Happy Birthday Little Man!
