10 weeks and 1st checkup

J had his 8 week checkup this morning and is weighing in at 12 pounds 7 ounces! He is 24 inches long so he is in the 70th % on weight and 90th% on height! Looks like he will be keeping up with his brothers in no time!

He was really sweet and smiley during his checkup and only cried for a second with his shots. He kept smiling at the Dr. and then would pucker out his bottom lip at him when he was poking and prodding. Dr. Smith kept giggling at his different expressions.

He is such a sweet baby... very easy going and happy! I cannot believe he is almost 10 weeks old! Time has flown by and he is just such a blessing to our family... I cannot imagine what it was like without him!

Does this look like a baby who had shots about an hour ago?

J - 9 weeks

Here are some new pictures of Jack. I have given up trying to disguise his name since he has so many outfits with his name on them! Everyone knows how much I love monogramming!

He is starting to smile more and it seems to be more intentional. He is really strong and holds up his head really well.

P.S. Thank you Mrs. Brittany for my outfit!

Pumpkin Painting

The boys got their little pumpkins home from the patch and couldn't wait to paint them. N was very methodical this year and did his best to paint an actual face on the pumpkin and even put his name on it. M's pumpkin on the other hand started out looking like a rainbow with about 12 different colors and 4 different layers of paint and then somehow ended up being covered with black paint... I am trying very hard to not look too deeply into his depressed little pumpkin! He was excited with it though and I guess he doesn't know the difference.

Flashback

The boys wanted to pose with their pumpkins on their heads after we got back from the patch this year so we lined them up.

It was such a flashback to last year! What a wonderful year it has been and how things have changed!

Pumpkin Patch 09

We went to the Pumpkin Patch with our friends the Grigsby's on Saturday and had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful and felt very "fall-ish." The boys got to ride rides, play games, pick out pumpkins, and go on a hayride. They had a great time!

The boys were so excited to ride behind the tractor. Friendly M is waving goodbye!

J was very content and enjoys being outside. He just took in all the sights. The boys picked out a baby pumpkin just for him.

N and M on the hayride.

The boys loved picking out their pumpkins and shocked me by wanting little ones instead of huge ones.
Here is our first family picture post hospital!

8 weeks

Hanging out with Daddy on the couch... He adores Daddy. J will just sit with him and coo and "talk." He will just stare at his Daddy!

Of course I have to have just a few naked pictures! He's strong and holds up his head really well.

N told me today, "Mommy, baby J sure has gotten to be a Chunky Monkey!"
I think that N is right! What a sweet little butterball!

Gracie and Bob-O Visit

Gracie and Bob-O have been in town this week and it has been a wonderful visit! Having Baby J has made me feel so much more homesick being away from all of our family and my close friends. It has been so nice to have my parents in town to spend time with me and of course help me out! I have gotten to nap a little more, run some errands alone and even go out to eat with my hubby all alone! We also took the boys to the zoo which is always fun! It has been a wonderful comfort and help!

Snaggletooth

About 2 weeks ago after I picked up N from school, he told me that he had a "loosed tooth." I have to admit that I didn't believe him at first, but he kept talking about it, so when we went to run an errand, I checked. Sure enough, it was loose! Needless to say, I didn't handle it very well... I'll blame it on my hormones, but truth be told I was just sad! I said that I was so sad that he was growing up and losing teeth and he was my baby, etc... Poor N! He got upset and started to tear up. He said, "Mommy, I thought you'd be happy my tooth is loose. I don't want you to be sad. I don't want to grow up and move away." Somehow, the little guy has put two and two together and figured out that when you grow up you move out of your parent's house. I quickly pulled myself together and spent a few minutes consoling him and telling him how proud I was of him and that I was so happy he was growing up and reassured him that he didn't have to move away for many, many years!
He recovered quickly and we called Daddy and all of the grandparents to tell them our happy news. He did inform Jean Mommy however that he was not growing up! He has since told me that he is going to grow up, marry me and stay with me and Daddy forever! Ahhh, the sweet innocence!
Well, it finally happened... I am still in a little bit of shock, but my baby lost his first tooth yesterday! It has managed to hang on by a thread for a while! Sweet N did not know that most kids actually work at getting their teeth out... he has been avoiding it. He has been so excited and telling everyone about it!

Last night, the tooth fairy came and left him a $5 bill in his tooth pillow. She also took a bath in the cup of water next to his bed and turned the water green! (His cousin Abbey lost a tooth while we were visiting her house and this phenomenon occurred, so naturally it is now our tradition also!)

Here he is: Mr. Snaggletooth!
