The day after...

Isn't the day after a birthday so much fun! Leftover cake and playing with presents! What could be better???

N trying out his new rollerblades. We were shocked at how well he did right off the bat!

Birthday Boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, N!!!

I cannot believe that my sweet boys is 6 years old today!

Since both of the boys have birthdays in May, M got to open a few presents also. They were so excited about their new scooters!
The birthday boy had fun sharing cupcakes with his classmates.
That evening, our neighbors came over and we had a Cinco de Mayo feast followed by ice cream sundaes (per N's request) and a pinata. They had a blast!
N specifically wanted ice cream sundaes instead of cake. We did have leftover cupcakes from school for all of the rest of us.
N LOVED his pinata! We eventually did have to take off the blindfold though...!

Soccer

N is playing Upward soccer again this spring and he has the most wonderful coach in the whole entire world... His Daddy! Although a very reluctant coach, Daddy is doing a fabulous job with the kids and truly exhibiting more patience than I knew he had! He has a rowdy, but sweet bunch of kids and I am so proud of him for the positive influence he is being on these young boys and girls. Oh, and did I mention that N thinks it is the greatest thing since sliced bread to have his Dad as the coach?

Bathtime buddies!

This is definitely one of those pictures that I will have to save for prom night, first dates, wedding slide shows... basic blackmail photo... but, aren't they the cutest? They do argue, sure, but they are best buddies. I am so thankful for their friendship and love for each other!

Bluebonnet Boys

Having lived in Texas for 3 years now, I wanted to take some pictures of the boys with the state flower. Surprisingly, there is not much of it around where we live, but I found a patch of them near M's old preschool. They smell amazing! Of course, I did not get a good picture of all three of them, but this is about as good as it gets for 3 boys, one amateur photographer Mommy, and too much sunshine. I should have gone out earlier in the day to avoid the glare! Oh well, they were sweet!

8 months old!

In ten days, J has gone from learning how to crawl to being our little adventurer! He was content to stay in the living room at first just roaming around and exploring the room. We did find him pulled up on the fireplace trying to eat the little pebbles that are under the gas logs. He has also had a few little spills where he has pulled up on the coffee table and bumped his head on the way down. But, for the most part...So far, so good!
However, in the last few days J has learned that there is more to this house that he needs to check out. He followed me into the laundry room yesterday and had his hands in Lucy's dog bowl. He also likes to try to explore the kitchen and has made me have to sweep and mop even more often. He puts everything in his mouth! I don't remember the older boys trying to put so much in their mouths, but I think that it may be that with J there are so many more of us and therefore, much more temptation. It is a constant job to try to pick up all the crumbs, scraps of paper, leggos, balls, etc... and I know that this is just the beginning!

A Day of Firsts!

Today was a day of firsts in the Jones house. I was folding laundry and looked up to see this:J pulled up! I was so excited... Then a few hours later after Daddy got home, we saw another first! J has been doing the "army crawl" and scooting around rooms for a few weeks now, but I guess he got tired of that and decided to get up on all fours and crawl. We were all so excited!

Easter 2010

Our family!

Daddy with his beautiful Mother and Sisters!

Daddy with our little man

Easter was a little different for us this year. We went to Georgia Wednesday afternoon for a very quick trip. We spent Thursday morning at Monniemoo's house and went to an Easter Egg hunt with some of my best friends that afternoon.

N, M, Laine and Davis at the Easter Egg Hunt!

Friday morning, I went to North Carolina to be a Matron of Honor in my cousin Lauren's wedding while Daddy and the boys spent the rest of the weekend with Jean Mommy and Papa Nelson. My parents and I had a great time at the wedding and left at 6 a.m. Easter Sunday morning to return back to Georgia in time for the annual lunch and Easter Egg Hunt at Aunt Jane's house with all of our family. It was a quick trip, but we had a great time. The wedding was beautiful and I was honored to be in it. It was fun to see some of my Mother's family in North Carolina that I had not seen in a few years.

The boys had a wonderful time with Jean Mommy and Papa. They dyed eggs, went to an egg hunt, and played a lot. We made it back in time to spend most of Easter Sunday with them which was very important to me! We had a great time at Aunt Jane's with all of Daddy's family and they were sweet to include my parents and Uncle Jamie as well. We returned to Texas on Monday and needless to say, I was sick of being in the car! It was a fun long weekend and well worth all of the driving!
The boys were really fun to watch hunting eggs this year. N was really into it... He was a man on a mission. I could not get a picture of the boys standing still!
M on the other hand, handed his basket to his Daddy and announced: "Daddy, you howd my basket and I get da eggs, otay?" He was very methodical, opening up each one before putting it in his basket and pointing Daddy where to go.

7 months old!

It is hard to believe that my precious baby boy is 7 months old! Mr. Snaggletooth has one tooth:

huge blue eyes:
and is such a happy boy!

He is pushing up on all fours and scoots around, but is not crawling quite yet. He is trying, though, and I am sure it will only be a matter of days!

Spring Break 2010!

The boys and I went down to see our family for a few days over spring break. We had a blast! We relaxed, stayed up way too late, ate a ton of food, went to the boys' first fair, went to a Cajun family bar restaurant, and had a fabulous time with our cousins.

Baby J got a lot of attention and loving from the whole family. The big girls loved to hold him and play with him and Aunt Beth even toted him around in her sling to help me out. He looks content don't you think?

M is going through a funny stage right now. Not having any sisters, he seems to be pretty interested in what his girl cousins are playing with. He especially likes The Little Mermaid movie and played with L's mermaid doll a lot! If he wasn't so rough and tough, I might be concerned but he is still my little mischevious M... he just really likes mermaids! (I should note, that Daddy may feel a little differently :-))

We went to a local cajun restaurant that is called a "family bar." We had so much fun. They had a country western band and a dance floor. We all danced and had a great time! I am sure all of the people that were two-steppin' probably wanted us to get off the floor!

Dancing with my N! He was really cute and wanted me to teach him how to dance.

The girls were so much help with J!

N even tried his first crawfish! I was so impressed because they were a bit spicy! He even took the shell off all by himself!

We had beautiful spring- like weather and had a great time playing outside and feeding the ducks behind their house:

We even went to a Spring Festival in a neighboring town and the kids had a blast. We ate fair food and the boys got to ride on their first roller coaster. This is a picture of N, M, and L waiting for the carousel. They are three little door steps!

N and M riding the trucks. N was so serious and thought he was really driving.

N, L, and M riding the bumblebee ride!

I guess all in all, this picture sums up how my boys felt after a long weekend with their cousins:
Worn out from having SO much FUN!!!

Thank you Uncle Clay and Aunt Beth for having us and showing us such a wonderful time!
