He's Growing up!

Last night we were all outside after Daddy got home from work enjoying the beautiful fall weather! I heard M calling my name and turned to see the biggest grin on his face... he was so proud of himself because he was riding the trycicle all by himself! He rode all over and was so happy. It was precious and proof that he is growing up so quickly!

Soccer

N is playing soccer again this fall and is having a lot of fun. N is not a very aggressive child, so he very rarely actually makes contact with the ball, but he has a good time. He loves practice and does very well at dribbling and kicking there, but I think he gets a little intimidated at the actual games. He told me that he likes the practice a lot better because at the games noone would give him the ball! He does not seem interested in trying to get it away from them, but has a good time running around and playing with his friends! We are wondering if team sports is really going to be his thing, but as long as he is asking to play and having a good time, we are going with the flow. Daddy has been helping out with some of the coaching and we have been trying to teach N the importance of helping out your teammates and obeying the coach.

M has just as much fun as N and is ready to play!

Field Trip!

N had his first field trip today to the Brookshire park and wildlife museum. He had been talking all weekend about going and on the way to school said, "Mommy, I am so excited about my first fiyeld twip!" ... a minute later, "Mommy, what is a fiyeld twip?"

Needless to say, he had a lot of fun and was super excited that he got to wear his new school t-shirt that all the kids are required to wear on field trips. I think he thought he was really hot stuff... He's getting so big!!!

Family

Here are a few pics of the boys at the zoo!

The parrots called "hello" to the boys which they all thought was very neat. Afterwards, M called "heyo" to every bird he saw. Here is a picture of him trying to get another one to talk!:

N sat out from the petting of the goats due to a tiny scrape on his knee that caused him a lot of drama!:

Here are some pictures of all of the boys at the Rose Garden. The garden was in full bloom and beautiful, but the boys were not too thrilled... the grown ups enjoyed it!
M was much more interested in picking the petals off all of the roses:
M was all smiles until we tried to take a posed shot... This is about as good as we could get...
Actually, N was not in a picture taking mood either...

Here is a picture of Aunt Julie, Raines and Davis at the pumpkin patch!

N had fun getting his face painted:

We had a great long weekend with some wonderful visitors! Monniemoo, Jean Mommy, Aunt Julie, Raines, and Davis all came to visit over their fall break! We had a great time being together... we went to a pumpkin patch, the rose garden, and the zoo among other things. It was a fun packed weekend. One thing nice about living away is that when we do see our family, it is very much appreciated and it is a lot of one on one time. The boys really enjoyed seeing their cousins and are missing them a lot today!

The Early Bird Catches the Worm

What happens to a little boy who wakes up every morning at 5:30 for 3 weeks straight?

You look like this at 8:30 when it is finally time to actually get dressed for the day and head out of the house!

Mommy could have used a nap!

We are not sure what is up with M, but he has been our alarm clock lately. He comes in our room every morning BY 5:30 ready for the day! My new plan this week is that I have started putting him down for a nap earlier in the afternoon and making him get up from his nap after only 1 hour to 11/2 hours... as opposed to the 3 hour naps he likes to take. The pictures evidently are the result... a tired little man, but hopefully that means it is working and he will start sleeping later... We ALL need it!I just had to take this picture of his foot... He has the cutest little feet... They are like little bricks!

He Said "Yes!"

I know this sounds like an engagement announcement, but around here we are all abuzz that M now says, "Yes!" He still tries to sneak in an "Uh-Huh" from time to time, but this is a huge milestone in our family. He also says "Joosh" a.k.a. "Juice" which is another big deal. He has been calling it "How" for months, so needless to say this is improvement! He is trying so hard bless his heart, and I know that many more words are to come!

Pumpkin Painting

We have had beautiful weather this week, so I decided to let the boys paint their pumpkins outside. They had so much fun! N painted his very meticulously and gave it stripes like a rainbow, while M's looked like he had just dumped all the paint on the pumpkins and smashed it around! They had a great time and it was a fun fall memory... except for when I washed M's shirt and realized that the paint we had used did not wash out! Oh well, it was worth it!

These are the boys' "concentration faces":

M purses his lips and N sticks out his tongue!

4-Wheeling!

Daddy is itching for a new toy! A friend of his is thinking about selling his 4-wheeler so we are currently "testing" it out. We'll see if it works out, but for the time being we did go riding last weekend and I will admit that it was a lot of fun. The boys LOVED it! All four of us rode on it at the same time (Yes, Mom... very slowly and carefully!) As for me, I enjoyed spending a few hours with all of my boys in the woods without any interruption or interference. I think there may be a lot of time in the woods camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, etc... in my future!

Pumpkin Heads

I bought the boys 2 little pumpkins yesterday at the grocery store and you would have thought that I bought them a new toy... They were so excited! They immediately grabbed them and put them on top of their head and started laughing. M was jumping around and N was saying, "Punkin Heyud!" ... I really have no idea why, but I thought it was cute and took it as a chance to catch some pics. I love this time of year!

A Boy and his Dog

M is absolutely nuts about our Golden Retriever, Lucy. She is the first thing he looks for when we get out of the car and the first thing he looks for when he walks into the playroom in the morning with his juice. He is always letting her in when I don't want her in and getting her to sit with him on the couch when I am not looking. They are two peas in a pod! A few weeks ago I accidentally left the gate open one morning and Lucy got out. I told the boys that we needed to go look for Lucy because she was not in the yard. N looked at me and said, "Mommy, I tink she wan away. I guess we haf to get a new dog!" He didn't seem phased at all and went about his morning business. M on the other hand, immediately put on his rain boots and pulled my hand to the front door. The little munchkin walked up and down our cul-de-sac with me calling out, "Yu-Yee!" in his big voice until she came barrelling up to us. He was beside himself with concern and kept holding out his little hands and asking for her.

Needless to say, when I walked in today and saw this, I just had to take a picture:

Yes, he is watching TV and using her as a body pillow. I wish I could have caught a picture of her face. She was just lying there content as can be! What 1.5 year old "puppy" lets a toddler do this?! It really is a special bond between a boy and his dog!
